They got a new, limited edition Adam Clayton Signature Jazz Bass, that's sparkly purple. https://shop.fender.com/en-US/electric- ... 92787.html There's also a Precision version: https://shop.fender.com/en-US/electric- ... ml#start=1 They're both $1999.99, so way too rich for my blood. :P

I saw those too, and $1999.99, is way out of my price too. I'm not that crazy about the color combination anyway. the two Gibsons were bad enough. I did just pay one off though.

I thought he was playing Warwick basses these days, with a signature model for them. Then again, he's probably made enough money that he can have anything he wants, and go back and forth between it all. That's interesting that there's actually a Precision and a Jazz model available for him. I don't think they've done that before with anyone, but I'm not sure.

With him, I don't think any company will care. All he has to do is play a song with each one, just so he's seen playing their brand bass.

That's true. Back in the day, musicians with endorsements probably just posed for an ad picture holding the thing, and most likely not even use it, other than that.

I think it still has to do with how big of a stage name they are.

Bringing this back from the dead...

I've read on a number of listings that the Sherwood Green AC Jazz has posiflex graphite reinforcement rods in the neck. However, the fender site doesn't list anything about it. Can anyone clarify? I own one of them (2015) - is there a way to tell which fender necks have them, aside from smashing them on a curb to look inside the splinters?

Thanks...

If you can't get a knowledgeable answer, give Fender a call. I could be wrong, but I believe the AC Jazzes I had were with the graphite rod, as the Am. Std. series had at that time.

The green monster rears it's head once again. :P I think they might still make those, but in purple, instead of that green finish.

Never mind. I went and looked, and they're green again. I wonder when they changed them back? It must have been recently.

I think both are offered. Time may be slipping, so I'd like to get that Sherwood Green Metallic Jazz again. They always looked and played nice.

It's kind of interesting that Adam Clayton has two different signature basses from two different companies. You don't see that too often. I guess he doesn't have some sort of deal where he has to be exclusive to one brand for that sort of thing, like they used to do that back in the day.

Whatever he does, I don't care. I just like the bass. Image
