Hi all, Just a thought.

I was wondering if anyone has modded their Blues Junior by inserting Vibrato like the Twin.

I wonder if this can be done at all...I would consider it if it wasn't too much of a big and expensive job to do.

What do you think?

I would just suggest getting a tremolo pedal.

The Twin and all other blackface Fender amps use tube driven tremolo (Leo Fender incorrectly called it vibrato). I'm not sure there is even room inside Blues Junior for the extra 12AX7 and trem circuit.

If you are handy with a soldering iron, can read a schematic, and know how not to get zapped when poking around inside a tube amp:
http://www.geofex.com/ and click on MOSFET Heresies Again! Make a solid state analog of the Fender tremolo circuit for adding tremolo to an non-tremo amp,

Thanks Metro,

Yeah It was just a thought that I had and was just curious.

I thought that it would be too much to do for just one effect of Tremolo.

I haven't modded my BJ and I don't think I will.

Anyway I will just stick with my Boss 65 FDR pedal, that is good enough when you have the right EQ mixed in for a nice Tremolo sound.

The last thing you want to do is mess with the PCB in the chassis of that amp. Those etched traces are more delicate than diplomatic negotiations between Jerusalem and Riyadh.

Take the safe road and buy yourself a stompbox.

There are some really good stomp boxes out there for alot less than any mod would cost.

+1 Those traces look like they're made out of glued on tin foil in a kindergarten art class. The boards are also really thin and single sided not double sided with plated through holes. Man even the BYOC pedal kits have thick boards with plated through holes.
