I finally made it to get one.
Only 20 made in 1990 before Hank Marvin changed his mind. The 'official' ones being released from 1992. They never surface, never on Ebay, never nowhere :(
Most probably one of the rarest from Fender.
Just like stamps , if one is not in conformity with the template and thus quickly withdrawn, then bingo... Only 18 remaining worldwide.
In mint condition after 17 years. Collectors are nice guys
Enjoy.

Fiesta Red of course

Hank Marvin 'signature

Quartersawn neck

A 1990 serial number
Image
A premature advertising (even rarer than the guitar itself)
Image
The evidence...

Thanks,
You should have kept it as I understand that most of them (but all together an aim of 20) have been retrofitted with an 'approved' pickguard harness; so the 'original' ones may be counted with one hand.

I was stationed in the UK eons ago (1989-92), and remember seeing a Squier 'Silver Series' MIJ Hank Marvin signature model in Denmark Street (I think it was Hank's) in London at about the same time. Does anybody have any info about that model?

Yes ,they were -and still are- quite popular among The Shadows fans.
They were released in 1992 and are still in demand and usually fetch a nice price as their quality is really fine.

Hi,

Could please you tell me some more about the electronics?
I've read somewhere else that there's a clapton midboost underneath?

The tuners: are they gold or satin gold?

I'm asking this because i'm planning to make a replica.

Thanks,

Ray

Alain

Beautiful guitar ... I'm not convinced about the neck being quarter sawn, though.

Cheers

David

I looked rude; sorry for that : I had a hard day...
The tuners are of the Satin gold type
The active circuitry is as per the regular FCS EC Strat with a Mid Boost Active global (0-25dB). Mid boost kit.
TBX Tone circuit.
I hope this helps
Cheers
Alain
