Wondering what they're worth. Someone had one on craigslist yesterday for $1100 that looked in good shape, but my wife looked at me funny when I told her I should buy it. And now it's gone. Just wondering if that was a decent price if it was in decent shape.

If it was in good shape and really a 25th Anniversary model--definitely a good price.

There were good ones and bad ones as I have come across a few over the years--so I'd say try it out first as well.

Hi guys,

I own a 1979 25th anniversary Stratocaster. I bought it new in 1979 and still own it. I bought it because I believe that my birth and the birth of the Stratocaster only differ a few weeks, so I feel strongly connected to it. Silly ain't it?

Depending on the state they are in and how complete the are and of course colour of the silver they do between $1500.- and $2200,- in the Netherlands.
Due to the fact that I own one I keep a close look of in what state they are offered. Sometimes they look like new, other times they look as if they have been stored in a public toilet.

That was a very good price for a 25th Ann. Strat they generally go for-
White 1st issue-$1650-1850, Silver (faded to gold)$1200-1500, Silver unfaded $2000-2500.Sometimes the silver faded to a very unappealing greenish gold colour and some of the very early silver ones had the paint start to fall off and flake almost immediately as happened to a buddy of mine who ordered one of the 1st ones through his music store. These of course would be worth considerably less.

So one with a few dings, half a straplock and faded to gold/silver is really worth $1200? (£789)

The last few I've seen were immaculate and they were tagged at $2500. So either the CL one was really beat, or he had no clue what he had...maybe both.
