I've found one for sale for $80. It looks to be in good shape. As far as I can tell it's basically the same as the Stagemaster. It has the reverse headstock, Floyd Rose, and HH configuration. It does however, and I'm not too fond of, have the "skull and bones" graphics and inlays. Are these much different from the Stagemaster, if at all?
Anyone own or have any experience with one? Inferior/superior to the Stagemaster? Either way it's a decent steal right?

I thought there was not a Squier Showmaster. There is a Fender Showmaster and a Squier Stagemaster.

Or, Am I wrong?
If I am right, maybe the seller got confused and said 'Showmaster' by mistake?
:?:

If it is the Fender, buy it immediately. If it is the Squier, just make sure it is reasonable condition. I would be happy modding up and restoring either one of these. Suh - weet.

That's what I thought too. Apparently they made them in 04+ and it clearly says "showmaster" in some "hip" font on the headstock. As far as I can tell from the pics, it's Squier/Fender recycling guitars and names. :)

Hard to tell from this one, but it looks just like it, minus a skull sticker.

Very cool. Dude, if that thing is in good condition for $80, you HAVE to go buy that puppy. Post what you end up doing either way.

This guy never responds, now reposts and drops the price to $70? What gives? I hate CL sometimes. He better respond to this email.

You don't come between a man and his axe! :D

fender showmasters are neckthru 3 piece (korean ones). the squier's are bolt on who-knows-how-many-pieces.

i played one at a pawn shop years ago just for grins. played like total crap, and the look is quite laughable imo.
