Can you install a traditional-looking jewel light on a Blues Jr.

Well, seeing as it would face upwards, I don't see the point, but, if you are technical savy, it should be possible. Good luck.

Hello Bluemoon,

It can be done pretty easily,
there's info out there on the net
that goes into detail.

I converted my blues jr, into a head
so one day I may just make the change.

Cheers.

Okay...here's what you do. Buy a genuine Fender red jewel light. With a flat, round sanding or grinding unit of some kind, grind off the threading. I stuff a small bit of cloth or paper towel up into the inside top of the jewel to protect the glass from the metal filings. Use glasses and you may need some pliers to hold the jewel against the grinder because of the heat. Apply silicon glue carefully to the bottom of the jewel and also a small bit up into the inside as well. The silicon glue adheres to the chrome plate but will come off later without damaging the chrome if needed. Carefully position the jewel light over top on the existing LED light and allow to dry. Mine has been in place for several years now without coming off. ...BTW... you must use red or clear. Other colors do not work very well. I am very happy with this simple mod and so are other BJ users I have given a modified jewel. It takes less than 15 minutes.

No, it won't fit, and wrong voltage. See the same subject on this thread below. You can glue the cover on, like another poster suggested, but that's all.

Yeah, this one is almost two years old. I had responded here and one of the others before noticing how old they were. I think that the same person resurrected both old posts. :?

Everybody knows the jewel lights change the tone. Mine's blue on my Rebel. It's a great Blues amp.

Actually, I have toyed with the idea of putting a red jewel over the red LED on my Frontman 25R. That should give me more of a "tube tone".
