LIES....I can still see the tuner at the bottom of the headstock doing that, so I know it's a 5-string. :wink:

Sweet color choice....I have a candy cola/maple 4-string jazz bass.

Bought this bass online, but I have seen the color in shops and liked it. Thinking about getting a White Peal pg. Seen one like that on ebay and thought it looked pretty good. I'm patial to the maple fretboards......also think the candy cola looks best with the maple. JMHO

You have excellent taste in bass guitars. Candy cola with maple is a fine choice, I've admired the General's for years. When the American Specials came out, I was hot for the Candy Red with maple, until i tried one. Actually I tried a bunch at two stores and they were terrible.

For those of you who have them and like them, you got lucky. i just happened on to a bad bunch.

I do prefer maple, but I don't really have anything against rosewood. I did seriously consider this one;

Haven't always been a big fan of white guitars, but this one with the tort guard sure looks nice.

It is pretty. One of my favorite color combos but I only have it in a Jazz - and I don't have that handy clover shaped guitar rest sticking out of the bottom of the headstock.

That is a serious bass. Enjoy.

Wow - you are psyched! It looks great, bet it plays great. I got to play one of these (same color combo if I remember correctly!) and a 5-string Jazz - they were both really nice.

Personally, I prefer the stock guard but that's just me!

I've been pondering my first five string and yours is EXACTLY the neck/color that I would go with. I'd put a black guard on it though because I got hooked on that look back in the 70's. (I'm old.)
