Hello chelofunk, welcome to the Forum.
Apart from the cosmetics, the important bit of this comes down to how you feel about the pickups and the fingerboard radius of each guitar, because those are the significant differences. The Deluxe Player has a 12" radius 'board, whereas the Roadhouse is 9.5". That matters to some people and not much to others. Your own fingers must decide.
The Roadhouse has Texas Special pickups, which have a long and noble history amongst Strat players. The Deluxe Player has Vintage Noiseless, which some people love and some don't. Some feel they don't nail the classic Strat sound, some feel they cover it just fine and give less single-coil hum into the bargain. Respected opinions on both sides of that discussion: again, your own ears must choose.
The Deluxe Player also has the little switch which allows you to add the "missing" two pickup combinations to the mix; bridge+neck, and bridge+middle+neck. Regular Strats don't cover those two bases. My own view is that this feature is not essential (and it's also easy to get on any Strat with a simple modification to the electronics), but it is nice to have. I find I do like that all-pickups-on sound; it's a bit fuller and fatter and a nice optional extra.
Aside from all that... how do feel about gold hardware?
There, does that help focus your thoughts any?
Cheers - C
