The Fender Pawn Shop Mustang Bass, is a great bass for any guitar player that want's or needs a good bass to go along with a 6 stringer guitar. The short scale 30" neck, is a bit closer to the standard guitar neck, than the 34" long scale is. It has a good solid sound, and the price is decent for a very well made new Fender Bass. A great Fender Bass to go with that favorite Strat, or Tele of yours.

Thank you for the tip , Mr.Nylon - I suspect this to be a very good advice. Someone should follow it ! I would really have checked it out if I was looking for a bass . My choice 5-6 months ago was a Roger Waters Precision , with which I am extremely satisfied. It's got a long , fat neck - which I appreciate - but as a guitar-player I sometimes long for a short-scale , like the Mustang . So your review appealed to me !

Hey asgeirman, howdy.
I had the Roger Waters Precision also. A great choice of a long scale bass, with a 1.75" @ the nut. Another great Fender Mexican manufactured bass. Image

It was changed out for the Mustang. The short scale Mustang kept in the fold with a Fender, not having to do a Gibson SG Std., for the Humbucking pup, and the short scale. It strings through the body like the Am. Std. does. The SG Std. Bass doesn't string that way. The Jazz size nut is better for me too. I look at it as a win, win. The Precision is a fantastic bass though. The Mustang is just a better fit for me. It plays great! Fender did a great job on the new Mustangs.
