Hi,

I run a fender telecaster deluxe through a saffire pro 24 audio device which runs into a laptop and out to a fender studio 85 combo amp. Sometimes I use the FX loop, but unlike the normal inputs 1 and 2 using the FX loop causes the amp to buzz a lot - sometimes even when the audio device/laptop isnt connected at all. Is this a grounding issue? electronic interference? or is there something fundamentally wrong with the unit?

Also when using a laptop/amp configuration in such a way is it best to a) run any distortion pedals through the first input (i.e. guitar->distortion->input 1) and just use the FX loop for going out to laptop and in?

or is it better to put distortion in the FX loop? (i.e. FX loop out->distortion->laptop->FX IN)

and b) to regulate volume is something like a boss FV-500 volume pedal best to use or a compression/limiter pedal/rack?

cheers

Distortion are not for effects loops, use it at the input of the amp.

Effect loops is for modulation effects only ;reverb, tremolo, phaser, ect
