I am looking at a 2X15 Bassman cabinet. It has black tolex and a silver dripedge. I am told it has two blueback Fender speakers in it. What kind of speakers were these and are they any good? I have a 1964 Tremolux and a 1964 Reverb unit. I have one 2X12 cabinet with Celestion Greenbacks and another 2X12 cabinet with Altec 417s. I am curious what the 2X15 cabinet/speakers will sound like. It's only $250.00 so if I don't like the speakers I guess it would be a great excues to buy some JBLs.
Thanks John

Typically, these 2 x 15 big-box Bassman cabs would be seen with CTS, Utah, or Oxford speakers, with JBL D140F's as an extra-cost factory upgrade. Utah speakers would usually be found with orange-and-silver labels, the CTS and Oxford speakers often with none at all. All may be ID'd by a correct interpretation of the EIA codes ink-stamped on the frame basket or magnet assembly.
