I recently bought the Tele bass and now I'm looking for a hardshell case for it.
Does the Tele fit in every J or P case? I guess but I'm not sure.
I'm thinking to buy the Fender ABS molded P/J bass case.

The MP Tele is a 32 inch scale short scale bass. It is going to be shorter than a standard 34" scale P-Bass. That shorter scale length means it will fit in a P-Bass case with just a bit of wasted case space. The wasted space increases in a universal fit case. I'd consider a G&G Made Fender Tolex for Precision Bass as that will have the least wasted space. I think you'll find the extra 3 inches or so in the Universal type cases overkill.

The Telecaster Bass was never a short scale bass and why Fender has now decided the reissue should be is totally baffling. The 32" scale makes it useless to me.

Thanks for the reply.
But, the MP Tele bass ain't a shortscale bass, it's a standard 34".
Think I'll go for a standard Fender bass case.

Checked the specs. You are correct. Fender is making a Tele style bass that is 32" and had it confused with that one. I had a 34 inch scale Tele bass and it came in the black Tolex G&G case. It fit fine. Probably would fit fine in the universal P/J case fine also.

How about a review of the Modern Player Telecaster Bass?
